I urgently appeal to all Kenyans - LET'S US GIVE PEACE AND NEGOTIATIONS A CHANCE!
I support ODM and know that Kenyans are divided between ODM and PNU. Everybody believes that his side is right and has been grossly wronged by the other side. I still know that Kibaki rigged the elections.
However, there are so many things happening that threaten our very survival as a nation. We have innocent people being murdered in cold blood by security agents and gangs claiming to be fighting for both sides.
Every Kenyan has been wronged vibaya sana. However, we still have a chance to save our country from total collapse.
If the current negotiations fail, I am afraid to tell you that we will loose anything that we still have. We will slaughter each other like chicken.
It is time to pull back and take another look at things.
We need short term solutions and long term solutions.
SHORT TERM
1. CREATE A POWER SHARING GOVT (not a govt of national unity) and have ODM take 50% and PM slot given to Raila and PNU/ODM-K take the other 50% with Kibaki as president.
2. Stop all killings and insecurity
3. Reconstitute the judiciary, ECK, civil service, police and army to reflect the true face of Kenya and the power sharing reality
4. Formation of truth and reconciliation commission
LONG TERM
1. Introduction of federalism
2. Abolition of winner takes it all scenario
3. Strengthening of the legislature and judiciary
4. New Constitution
5. The Rift Valley question to be sorted out amicably
We still have a country to preserve. We still have 37 million people to prevent from being killed. We still have a "home" to protect.
Let us give peace a chance.

I agree with you Kenyanzuri, we need peace. Its not worth loosing all the things we have worked for all these years. Some people have worked really hard almost all their lives to build themselves a house so that they can avoid the headache of paying rent...only for that house to be burnt down to ashes. Its really not worth it.
May God heal our land
I also totally agree with the comments made. However, I'm not as optimistic. What makes you believe Kibaki will ever accept a fair power-sharing deal as well as real constitutional and institutional changes in Kenya? I don't believe that Kibaki is serious regarding any mediation efforts. He would like to dish out some minor cabinet posts to ODM and that would be it. He will never sign any document, which would mean considerable change to Kenya. Just look at the constitutional talks, which have been going on since 2002.
