Why Karua Might not be a Deputy PM

PNU might not select Karua or another PNU hardliner to be a deputy PM. This is because, PNU will like to put somebody who can work with Raila. If they put somebody who fights Raila all the time, the coalition might collapse very quickly - something PNU does not want. PNU wants the coalition to last as long as possible.

A collapse of the coalition will mean elections and ODM will sweep everything clean - including Ukambani.This might be the reason why some hardliners like Karua and Kiraitu are now shouting themselves hoarse saying that they can work with Raila (so that they can be viewed as moderates. Infact Karua said that she is not a hardliner but was just following orders!)


Looks to me like Raila's PM position is more powerful than what most PNU people might like to admit.
