Many Kenyans and the whole world has been following the unfolding political scenario after Kibaki/PNU rigged the Dec 2007 in broad day light. You can also read more about the rigging here. It took the magic charms of Koffi Annan (read here) and Tanzania's president Jakaya Kikwete (read here) and also, US Secretary of State Condleeza Rice's sharp rebuketo stop PNU's plans to derail the peace efforts.

Eventually, an equal power sharing agreement was reached/forced on Raila and Kibaki. However, PNU has always been looking for an opportunity to derail the peace talks going to the extent of personally attacking William Ruto. However, these schemes failed as the ODM and international community rallied behind Ruto.
