By-Elections and Kivuitu!

The recent by-elections in Kenya provided an opportunity to test how we have grown since januray and also test the strength of the governing coalition.
"I think if the by-elections are peaceful and transparent and are generally regarded that way, that will show that Kenya has learned from the experience of December and is moving ahead democratically," US Ambassador Michael Ranneberger told Reuters.

The elections also provided Kivuitu an excellent opportunity to somehow reclaim his image after bungling the general elections. The Kenyan standard news paper described it as Kivuitu's final test "Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) Chairman, Mr Samuel Kivuitu, is in the eye of a storm again this week as he conducts five by-elections, on a day when investigation begins on last year’s disputed presidential election.

Foreign envoys were also not left behind as they asked Kenyan authorities to avert poll violence

In the end of the day, Kenyans voted in peace electing three ODM MP's and two PNU MP's.

What is you verdict about the by-elections?
